It has been a groundbreaking championship so far and it has rocked the British Rallying Establishment. At the start of the season, given the list of those who had signed up for the BRC, Triple British Champion Mark Higgins was the pundit’s only candidate for success. His undoubted talents were always known to a small group of people, who, confident that he could succeed, came together to form the Cronin Motorsport Supporters Club in December 2007. This club is the vehicle that aims to carry Keith to the very pinnacle of the sport. In 2008, the clubs inaugural year, 720 members joined the club. This total has already been eclipsed this year and in the absence of a major sponsor, it is the contributions from the supporters club that has so-far kept the dream alive. The benefits of membership can be ascertained by visiting www.croninmotorsport.com and then click on the club page. The Funds received here will be utilised to complete the BRC 2009. It is, at present, conceivable that the budget to complete the championship won’t be available. It is for this reason, all rally fans and admirers of this young Irish talent are encouraged to join his supporters club in order to re-enforce his BRC assault. Heading to the first Tarmac round of the championship on the Scottish Borders the young Corkonian is quietly confident, because, although seen by many as a gravel specialist, he confounded the critics by having his best results on tarmac, prior to this year. This year he has won every gravel rally he has entered, including the two famous wins over Triple BRC champion Mark Higgins!! Lets hope he continues the trend on the asphalt!! |
